Scott Anderson, who’s ran in parts of three Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires seasons, will make his GRC Lites debut in Red Bull Global Rallycross for CORE autosport this weekend in Seattle, and is also set for an encore run at the series’ season finale in Los Angeles from Oct. 7-9. He’ll be in the team’s No. 56 entry.
CORE will be split between its IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship teams (the Prototype Challenge single-car team and two-car Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSR programs) and GRC this weekend, with GRC in Seattle and IMSA at Circuit of The Americas in Austin.

Scott Anderson will be making his Red Bull Global Rallycross Lites debut at Seattle Evergreen Speedway on September 16-17 with CORE autosport. The 26 year-old American from Fort Collins, Colorado will remain with CORE autosport as the Red Bull GRC season concludes with a doubleheader at Port of Los Angeles in California with the vision of securing a full 2017 season ride.
“I’ve been eyeing Global Rallycross a lot over the past couple of years. It looks like the most fun one could have in a race car, and I’ve wanted to try out some sort of rally, so this is the most excited I’ve been in a long time” said Anderson. “I’ve had less seat time this year than I have had in my career. I’m really itching to get started with CORE autosport this week.”
Headquartered in Rock Hill, South Carolina, CORE autosport competes in multiple racing series across the spectrum from the IMSA Prototype Challenge Class, IMSA GTLM factory program for Porsche Motorsport, and the Red Bull Global Rallycross Lites category.

Anderson’s vast experience in open-wheel racing originates from his 2011 Skip Barber National Championship win, in addition to his 2012 debut in the Mazda Road to Indy ladder system where he finished third in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship with two victories and three podium finishes. He finished fifth in the Pro Mazda Championship with a second place finish and six additional top-five results the following year. Graduating to Indy Lights for the 2014 season, Anderson claimed his best Indy Lights finish in 2015 where he finished a season-high of third.
