Leclerc joined Haas in a development role at the beginning of the year as part of the American marque’s technical partnership with Ferrari, his parent team.
The Monegasque youngster made his first practice appearance at Silverstone ahead of the British Grand Prix before enjoying further run-outs in Hungary and Germany.
Leclerc had been due to take part in practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix next weekend at the Sepang International Circuit, but confirmed on Twitter today that the plan had changed.
Leclerc will be at Sepang next weekend for the GP3 Series round that supports the grand prix. The 18-year-old currently leads the drivers’ standings with four races remaining.
