Although she only races at least once, sometimes more per year in the Verizon IndyCar Series on ovals, Pippa Mann spends a majority of her year working around the clock to help Susan G. Komen.

She’s been in the pink Komen No. 63 Honda for Dale Coyne Racing each of the last three years in the Indianapolis 500, with the 2016 race her best to date as a top-10 finish was possible before a late splash of fuel was required. She still ended 18th, her best result in five ‘500 starts.

But in order to even be in that position to drive in the first place, Mann has raised more than $150,000 locally and nationally over three years. The amount raised has gone up each year, and she’s been an advocate for Komen all year on an annual basis.

For her efforts, Mann has been named to Komen’s More Than Pink List, which premiered late last week. This is in advance of October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and helps recognize those advocates who have worked tirelessly for the cause on a year-round basis.

Jason Aldean, John Cena, Betty Ford, Oscar de la Hoya, Sandra Lee and DeAngelo Williams are among the others of the 30 recognized. The full list can be found here, and more via Mann’s website can be found here.

“The past three years partnering with Susan G. Komen at the Indianapolis 500, to bring a pink car, and pink racing program, that serves as a fundraising beacon around our biggest event of the year, has been an incredible experience,” she said.

“It started with the idea of simply changing my helmet colors, and allowing it to be auctioned off after the race, but with the support of Dale Coyne Racing, and the IndyCar fans, we’ve created something that is truly special to be a part of.”
