One of the best parts of NHRA drag racing is when competition is held at night. The usual resulting light show is oftentimes better than any fireworks display you’ll see.
Such was the case Friday night during the first day of qualifying for this weekend’s AAA NHRA FallNationals at Texas Motorplex just south of Dallas.
Top Fuel driver Scott Palmer put on one heck of a light show when the motor on his dragster exploded -- or as some in the sport like to say, it “grenaded” in one heck of a blast.
