F1’s resident essayist Sam Posey looks back at Jenson Button’s career, as the McLaren Honda driver prepares to likely sign off his 305-start Grand Prix career today.

In “Jenson’s Journey,” Posey looks at Button’s career in three acts – his first 100-plus Grands Prix before winning his maiden race at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix – then his star turn with Brawn GP winning the 2009 World Championship, and now his final coda at McLaren from 2010 through 2016, when he won further races but never quite reached the same title-winning heights.

All the while, Button’s enjoyed the respect and admiration of the paddock at large.
