Stephane Peterhansel struck a bike rider and stayed with him until medical arrived, but was awarded his time back and the win, allowing him to re-take the car overall lead from Sebastien Loeb.
In trucks, Eduard Nikolaev’s win in Stage 10 may go a long way in helping him secure a second Dakar trophy in the last three years.
Sergey Karaykin won the stage for quads but is in a tight title fight with Ignacio Casale, with the two separated by just over 20 minutes.
