Kevin Magnussen has been passed fit by Formula 1 medical staff for the Mexican Grand Prix after coming down with illness on Friday, confirming his participation in the remainder of the race weekend.

Magnussen struggled with illness throughout FP3 before being given permission by the FIA to miss the drivers’ briefing, as well as skipping his post-practice media commitments in order to get some rest and recover.

Haas confirmed in a post on Twitter ahead of final practice in Mexico that Magnussen had recovered and been passed fit by the FIA medical team, with the Dane taking part in the rest of the race meeting as planned.

Final practice for the Mexican Grand Prix is live on the NBC Sports app from 11am ET today, followed by qualifying at 2pm ET on NBCSN.
