IMSA on Wednesday announced the appointment of veteran race officials Todd Snyder and John Maesky to new race director roles.
Maesky, who has worked in IMSA race control for the last several seasons, will take on a new role as race director for both the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama, as well as the Ultra 94 Porsche GT 3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama for the 2018 season.
Snyder, meanwhile, will add race director duties of the IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda to his existing duties as race director for IMSA-sanctioned series Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Ferrari Challenge.
Both Maesky and Snyder will begin their new duties during next week’s two-day test at Sebring International Raceway in Florida.
In addition, former IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race director from late 2014 through last season, has returned as IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race director, a role he held from late 2014 through the 2016 season.
“IMSA is fortunate to have a number of talented individuals throughout its entire team, so when these race director positions opened up, we had outstanding internal candidates to fill them,” IMSA Vice President of Competition Simon Hodgson said in a media release. “Beaux, Todd and John all are highly professional and experienced in the unique IMSA race control environment. They will do a fantastic job of officiating our races.”
