NASCAR’s Mike Helton joins AMA racing board

Mike Helton will join the AMA Pro Racing Board of Managers. Helton will continue in his role as Vice Chairman of NASCAR.

Helton joins George Silbermann, David Atlas, Tom Bledsoe and Mark Raffauf on the Board.

Helton brings decades of race promotion and operation experience to the track. He was promoted to Vice President for Competition for NASCAR in 1994 and has held several executive roles since.

“Mike Helton brings a lifetime of Motorsports experience to American Flat Track during a period of rapid growth for the sport,” said Michael Lock, CEO of American Flat Track in a press release. “We welcome Mike to the Board and are looking forward to the benefit of his insights and guidance.”

Along with the other board members, Helton will provide insight into how to expand the reach of the American Flat Track series.

“I’m excited about becoming a part of AMA Pro Racing’s Board of Managers,” Helton said. “I’ve been a motorcycle enthusiast for most of my life and really am impressed with the direction American Flat Track is going. I look forward to being a part of their increasing role in motorsports.”

In his role with NASCAR Helton oversees competition, helps guide the strategic planning, and expands the sport’s reach nationally and internationally.
