Colton Herta dominated Sunday’s Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, leading 83 of the event’s 90 laps en route to his second career NTT IndyCar Series victory.
Will Power finished second after running up front all day, while Scott Dixon finished third.
As for the overall championship, Josef Newgarden’s eighth place finish in the race was enough for him to clinch the second title in three years. Newgarden’s final lead in the standings was by 25 over his teammate Simon Pagenaud.
Felix Rosenqvist finished first in the Rookie of the Year Championship, by a margin of five points over Herta.
Honda won the Engine Manufacturer’s Championship over Chevrolet by a margin of 49 points.
