The motorsports world soon will get its first look at Jimmie Johnson behind the wheel of a Dallara-Chevrolet.

Before qualifying Saturday at Phoenix Raceway, the seven-time champion of the Cup Series disclosed that he will be testing April 6 for Arrow McLaren SP at the road course east of Birmingham, Alabama.

Johnson was at the McLaren shop in Indianapolis last week for a seat fitting. He also attended preseason testing at the Circuit of Americas in Austin, Texas, leading to speculation he will run some road and street courses in the 2021 season after retiring full time from NASCAR.
