Lewis Hamilton posted a social media update Saturday morning after hearing speculation about his health during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The five-time Formula One champion said he was at an event with actor Idris Elba (who revealed he tested positive for COVID-19) and Sophie Trudeau (the wife of Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau), who also contracted the virus.
Hamilton, 35, said he is feeling healthy and has no symptoms 17 days after being at the event. The Mercedes driver has been self-quarantining since the Formula One season opener in Australia was canceled.
The outspoken Briton took a strong stand against F1’s initial decision to run the race during a news conference in Australia last week.
