IndyCar results and points standings after Road America Grand Prix No. 2

With two laps remaining during the Grand Prix at Road America Race 2, Felix Rosenqvist gets around Pato O'Ward and holds on to claim his first career IndyCar Series victory.

Felix Rosenqvist chased down Pato O’Ward and led the final two laps Sunday at Road America to capture the first NTT IndyCar Series victory of his career. Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Scott Dixon came up short in the results column of recording his fourth consecutive victory but continued to hold a comfortable points lead.

Chip Ganassi Racing has 112 victories in IndyCar after winning the first four races of the 2020 season, including Dixon’s tirumph in the first race Saturday of the REV Group Grand Prix race weekend doubleheader at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Pato O’Ward, who led a race-high 43 of 55 laps in the hunt for his first IndyCar victory, finished a career-best second Sunday, followed by Alexander Rossi, Marcus Ericsson and Colton Herta.

POINTS

After four of a scheduled 14 races, Dixon holds a 54-point lead on Colton Herta (173-119) in the championship standings. The rest of the top 10: O’Ward 110, Simon Pagenaud 110, Josef Newgarden 106, Marcus Ericsson 93, Will Power 92, Graham Rahal 88, Rosenqvist 88, Santino Ferrucci 87.

Alex Palou has an eight-point in the rookie of year standings over Rinus VeeKay (79-71), followed by Oliver Askew (51) and Dalton Kellett (29).
