Brandon Hartranft is one of three riders announced as part of the Pipes Motorsports Group lineup for the three-round pilot season of the World Supercross (WSX). He will ride in the 450cc class with a second rider to be named later. Dilan Schwartz and Marshal Weltin will ride in the SX2 (250cc) class.
Hartranft finished eighth in the 2022 Monster Energy Supercross standings and was 17th in the Lucas Oil Motocross championship. He earned five top-10s in SX competition this year, with a best of eighth coming in St Louis and Salt Lake City. His most recent podium was scored in the outdoor series in the 2020 Ironman Nationals.
“With our team officially set for the FIM World Supercross Championship’s pilot season, we’re excited to see how we stack up against the other teams and some of the best riders in the world,” Dustin Pipes said in a press release. “We believe we have a great chance to win a World Championship.
“The WSX has done an amazing job putting this pilot season together and allowing the teams and riders to showcase their skills and talent on a global stage. The first Grand Prix is right around the corner and we’re ready to compete and podium in both the 250cc and 450cc classes with our talented riders.”

The WSX will kick off their inaugural three-race season October 8, 2022 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
Schwartz has seven 250 West races under his belt with a best of ninth at Atlanta in 2021. He has five top-10 finishes in Supercross and Motocross combined.
Weltin has split his time between the 250 and 450 classes in recent seasons. He finished 19th in the 250 East division this year and was 15th on a 450 in the outdoor season after advancing to six of eight main events.
After leaving Wales, the series heads to Melbourne for Round 2.
The third and final venue for the pilot season has not yet been announced.
