e.dams-Renault’s Nicolas Prost is 2-for-2 in poles so far in Formula E after posting the fastest lap in tonight’s qualifying session for the Putrajaya ePrix in Malaysia.

However, the son of Formula One legend Alain Prost will have to serve a 10-spot grid penalty for his role in Nick Heidfeld’s nasty crash at the conclusion of September’s season opener in Beijing.

As a result, it will be Dragon Racing teammates Oriol Servia and Jerome d’Ambrosio that will lead the field at the start of the 31-lap race, which comes later tonight at 1 a.m. ET. Prost will roll off from 11th.

Prost, Servia, and d’Ambrosio turned in the three fastest overall laps from the third of four qualifying groups. Servia, the long-time IndyCar pilot, went to the provisional pole with a 1:22.010 with less than two minutes remaining for Group 3, but Prost answered with a 1:21.779 that would stand up as the quickest time.

The final group saw practice leader Sam Bird shoot to fourth on the overall grid with a 1:22.235, while Beijing winner Lucas di Grassi and Jaime Alguersuari failed to post times after they both crashed during their runs. Those two drivers will have to start from the back of the field.

Bird and Daniel Abt will line up from Row 2, followed by Jarno Trulli and Karun Chandhok in Row 3. Nelson Piquet and Heidfeld are in Row 4, and Row 5 features Bruno Senna and Indy Lights driver Matthew Brabham from Andretti Formula E. Brabham’s teammate, Franck Montagny, will start a bit farther back in Row 7 with Stephane Sarrazin.
