Jerome d’Ambrosio will return to the FIA Formula E championship for its second season after extending his contract with Dragon Racing.
D’Ambrosio raced with Dragon for the entirety of season one, claiming one race victory in Berlin and two second place finishes in London en route to fourth place in the final standings.
The Belgian driver was delighted to confirm that he would be remaining with Dragon Racing for season two, the team owned by Jay Penske.
“It is with great excitement that I will be at the wheel of the Dragon Racing entry for the second season of the FIA Formula E Championship,” d’Ambrosio said.
“I have watched the entire Dragon Racing organization produce race wins and podium finishes, and I feel that we have the opportunity to build on the knowledge and experience we all gained in season one.”
Penske was pleased to retain d’Ambrosio for the second season, believing that the Belgian can emulate and exceed his achievements from the first campaign.
“I am so pleased to have Jerome continue to pilot the #7 Dragon Racing entry,” Penske said.
“After watching Jerome’s performance on track and the way that he worked with his engineers and crew in the first season, I feel that season two will produce more podium finishes, and hopefully more results like in Berlin and London.”
The second Dragon seat was shared between Oriol Servia and Loic Duval in season one, but it is unclear who will fill it for the start of season two in Beijing on October 17.
